Choose the story you actually want to preserve
One arrival: The Day You Arrived — $89, 8 pages. Focus on one arrival and its immediate family setting. This can suit a birthday gift when the meaningful story is the person's beginning rather than an entire lifetime. View the edition and purchase details →
A new family beginning: The Day We Became Family — $109, 8 pages. Covers one birth, adoption, guardianship, or blended-family beginning in the family's preferred language. Choose the event and the words your family uses to describe it. Read the scope and sample →
A wedding or partnership milestone: The Day We Became Us — $99, 8 pages. A focused choice for a relationship keepsake or anniversary gift. View this edition in the Bookstore →
A meaningful move: The Day We Came Home — $89, 8 pages. Follows one move or arrival at a meaningful home. It is distinct from a first-home year. See choices and an illustrative sample →
Several turning points: The Dates That Made Us. Explore this established edition when several dates belong together. For a broader narrative, browse commissioned options such as Our Family Story, My Mother's Story, My Father's Story, or A Life Remembered. Compare each listing's scope and current price before choosing; the shorter editions do not automatically include a full family biography.
What does a family history keepsake look like?
Four Dates, One Front Step
This existing six-page fictional demonstration follows the Merrow family of Briar Glen. Its four central dates mark a house purchase in 1948, Nora's arrival in 1976, her return to the town in 2002, and a family gathering in 2023.
The example shows how a family story can grow from a small archive. A simulated deed establishes who bought the house; an invented calendar records an arrival; an album caption supplies a season; a letter describes a return. The narrative keeps these different events distinct. Buying a house does not prove a move-in date, and returning to town does not establish a transfer of ownership.
That approach makes room for both meaning and uncertainty. The shared address connects different generations without pretending that every family member owned the house or lived there continuously.

Two other examples to help you decide
The Table We Kept follows fictional Mara Ellowen and Daniel Veybrook through a wedding, an imperfect first home, and everyday choices in a shared life. It illustrates The Day We Became Us. Read the relationship demonstration →
The Light in the Workshop remembers fictional Samuel Orrick Vale through work, relationships, and small habits. It illustrates The Life Between the Dates and shows a memorial approach that acknowledges the limits of family recollection. Read the memorial demonstration →
These are fictional demonstrations, not customer histories. Their people, towns, quotations, and supporting records are invented. Each sample is six pages; actual commissioned length and content depend on the purchased edition and available materials. The sample stories do not include audio narration or customer photographs.
How commissioning works
- Choose your edition. Purchase through Eftsona Press & Bookstore after reviewing the scope.
- Share materials privately. Complete the emailed intake and provide the memories, details, and materials you have permission to use.
- Eftsona creates the history. Research, writing, and design stay within the selected edition's scope.
- Review your private proof. Approve it or request the included correction pass.
- Keep the approved work. Receive the PDF, narration, transcript, and source notes through private delivery.
Prepare a useful starting archive
Gather the names as you want them printed, important dates, photographs with captions, and the memories you want included. Explain who remembers each event and flag dates that are uncertain. A small set of clearly identified materials is more useful than a large folder with no context. Do not supply guesses as confirmed facts.
For a surprise gift, read the commissioning guidance before ordering so you understand what information the project needs. Check timing, materials, and proof expectations →
Want a physical family keepsake?
The optional Eftsona Signature Plate turns an approved finding into a glossy metal keepsake: 11 × 14 at $119 or 16 × 20 at $159. It supports one to three photographs and an optional private companion QR code. Add it with one eligible Personal History in the same order.
The plate has a separate proof and approval before manufacturing. U.S. delivery only; allow around 14 days. Approval of the written history does not automatically release the plate. View the Signature Plate upgrade →
Questions before you buy
Is this a genealogy or property-title investigation?
Choose according to the published scope. A personal narrative preserves a particular story; it should not be assumed to establish an entire ancestry or legal chain of ownership. The family demonstration explicitly leaves unanswered questions visible.
Can I read a complete example first?
Yes. The sample collection includes five complete fictional demonstrations plus a separate redacted demonstration. Newer editions also have short illustrative excerpts.
Is the physical plate included?
No. It is a separately priced optional upgrade with its own approval process.
